World's Oldest and Largest Ultramarathon

Run between Durban and Pietermaritzburg since 1921, the roughly 90-kilometre Comrades Marathon is widely regarded as the oldest annual ultramarathon still held today. Its field now regularly draws more than 20,000 finishers, making it the largest race of its distance in the world.
