Located near Schaffhausen, the Rhine Falls is widely described as the largest waterfall in Europe by water flow, with the Rhine River dropping about 23 meters over a roughly 150-meter-wide basin. It formed around 14,000 to 17,000 years ago at the end of the last ice age.
