World's Oldest and Largest Cross-Country Ski Race

First held in 1922 to commemorate a 16th-century royal escape on skis, the Vasaloppet runs 90 kilometers between the towns of Salen and Mora in central Sweden. It is recognized as both the oldest and the largest cross-country ski race in the world by number of participants.
