World's First Hotel Built Entirely of Ice and Snow

Rebuilt every winter from blocks of ice cut from the nearby Torne River, the ICEHOTEL in the Swedish Arctic village of Jukkasjarvi opened in 1989 as the world's first hotel constructed entirely from ice and snow. It remains one of the largest structures of its kind, featuring an ice bar, chapel and art suites.
