Home of the Philippines' Largest Annual Lantern Festival

San Fernando, Pampanga is known as the "Christmas Capital of the Philippines" for its Giant Lantern Festival, where competing parols that once measured about 2 feet across have grown to roughly 20 feet in diameter, lit by thousands of bulbs. The century-old tradition has made the city's festival the most prominent lantern celebration in the country.
