World's leading saffron producer

Iran grows the large majority of the world's saffron, with recent estimates putting its share of global output at roughly 85 to 90 percent. Most of the crop comes from the northeastern provinces of Khorasan Razavi, South Khorasan and North Khorasan. The spice remains one of Iran's most valuable agricultural exports.
