Last Country in the World to Introduce Television

Bhutan did not legalize television broadcasting until 1999, later than any other country, having deliberately restricted mass media for decades to protect its traditional culture. Internet access was introduced the same year. The change is widely documented as marking Bhutan's status as the last nation on Earth to adopt television.
