Record Description
U Bein Bridge stretches 1,209 meters across Taungthaman Lake near Mandalay and was built between 1849 and 1851 using teak salvaged from a former royal palace. Supported by more than a thousand wooden pillars, it is still used daily by pedestrians, cyclists, and monks. It is widely regarded as the oldest and longest teak bridge in the world.
