Unique One-Legged Rowing Fishing Technique

Fishermen of the Intha ethnic group on Inle Lake row their canoes by wrapping one leg around the oar while balancing on the other, a technique that leaves both hands free to manage fishing nets. This distinctive method is not documented as practiced anywhere else in the world. It has become a defining cultural symbol of Inle Lake and southern Shan State.
