World's Leading Source of High-Quality Jadeite

Myanmar's Hpakant region in Kachin State produces the large majority of the world's fine jadeite jade, a stone especially prized in China for jewelry and carving. The industry generates billions of dollars in trade annually, though much of it moves through informal channels. Myanmar's jadeite deposits are considered unmatched globally in both scale and quality.
