World's Toughest Footrace

The Marathon des Sables, first held in 1986, is a multi-day ultramarathon of roughly 250 kilometers across the Sahara Desert near Ouarzazate, Morocco, with competitors carrying their own food and supplies. It is widely nicknamed "the toughest footrace on Earth" because of its extreme heat, distance, and self-sufficiency rules.
