Record Description

Lake Titicaca sits at roughly 3,810 meters above sea level on the Peru-Bolivia border, making it the highest lake in the world that large commercial vessels can navigate. Its depth of up to 180 meters allows ferries and cargo boats to operate safely despite the extreme altitude. Guinness World Records lists it as the highest commercially navigable lake on record.
