World's Largest Banana Exporter

Ecuador has long been the single largest exporter of bananas in the world, a position it has held for decades ahead of competitors like Guatemala and Costa Rica. In 2025, the country's banana shipments reached a record 378 million boxes, an increase of nearly 4 percent over the prior year. The industry remains one of Ecuador's most important sources of export revenue.
