Record Description

A 2010 scientific survey published by researchers studying Ecuador's Yasuni National Park concluded it holds some of the highest concentrations of tree, amphibian, and insect species found anywhere on the planet within a comparable area. The park sits at the intersection of the Andes, the Amazon, and the equator, a combination that fuels its extraordinary biodiversity. Conservationists consider it one of the most ecologically important rainforest reserves on Earth.
