Nobel Prize in Literature laureate

Saint Lucian poet and playwright Derek Walcott won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1992, honored for a body of work including the epic poem "Omeros." He co-founded the Trinidad Theatre Workshop and remains one of the Caribbean's most celebrated writers.
