Record Description

Brimstone Hill Fortress, built by the British over more than a century starting in the 1690s, is regarded as one of the best-preserved historical fortifications in the Americas and earned the nickname "Gibraltar of the West Indies." It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999.
